Ah, reviews. Love 'em or hate 'em, as a novelist ya gotta have 'em. And everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion. If you can't stand the heat, you need to stay out of the kitchen.

The beauty of having your own website, however,  is that you can collect the nicest things readers had to say and leave the unkind words to their fate.

Now, let's keep it real for a second: not everyone is going to love your book--or anything you do. That's a given. Some readers haven't loved 2013. A few rather strongly disliked it. Again, this is to be expected--especially in a book that challenges all beliefs. But after considering the reviews as a whole--71 as of this writing, overwhelmingly positive and only a few from friends--I am deeply touched by the fact that people I've never met were moved enough by something I wrote to take the time to post their feelings.  When you send your book out there you never know how it will be received, and it is most gratifying to see the response you were hoping for.

So indulge me if you will.

In a world that's far too full of rejection and disappointment for us all--That's Life, to borrow a line from Ol' Blue Eyes--this is my feelgood page, the place where I get to, in the immortal words of Johnny Mercer, "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative."

By the way, the picture is of our golden retriever, Lily.  She never gives me a bad review.
“Simply Amazing!!! A combination of The Exorcist, The Omen, National Treasure...”
Fernando Zepeda

“Riveting! This was an incredible ride! I simply could not put this book down…  I love books that make you think about things bigger than yourself. This does that  in spades.”  Karen

“Robert Ryan creates a Good vs Evil that you find yourself pulled into…  Hats off for tackling a touchy and delicate subject with characters that have depth and dimensions…”
Wenchette

“Fantastic read. Could hardly put it down. I'm saddened that it is only fiction. It would make one Hell of a history book.”
Pamela A. Graf

“For this to be a debut novel the writer knocked it out of the park. I was a little apprehensive at the extreme religious narrative but the writer melds it beautifully into the strong characters portrayed in their respective roles.”
Alastair Russell

“Interesting premise, well written, and never dull. Also thought it provided some interesting food for thought, even for the non-religious oriented.”  Alan J. Kaechele

“A must read! I was hooked from the first chapter. It gave me the possibilities of what if? I feel a better person after reading…”
Jennifer Ramos

“I have just started reading this awesome book, and my wife said she was talking to me…I am just too into it to stop.”
Cycotic

And from a young lady in the UK...

"That was the best book I've ever read! It was a coincidence that I began reading it when I did and finished on the 'last day of the world' but seriously there's so much in there that proves that the power of God is real. I'm not even religious. Anyone who can read should read this. By the way, in case this is monitored by the author, my mum wants to read this but she can only read it in a book because of her eyesight so print this please!!! Last thing, I'm only 19. Just wanted to emphasize the point that I'm not an old religious coot who reads these kinda things. Usually I read about vampires lol. But seriously, this book is the best. Thank you Mr. Ryan--Mahalia
